The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Notice describes UNFPA's policy concerning the gathering and sharing of users' information through this mobile application (hereinafter together referred to as the "GBV Prevention Application" or "Application").
This Privacy Notice describes what information is collected, stored, transferred and made available to UNFPA and third parties when you use this Application and how UNFPA uses and stores that information. Any information voluntarily disclosed to UNFPA by users is held with the utmost care and security and will not be used in ways other than as set forth in this Privacy Notice.
By using this Application, general usage data from standard server logs, such as Internet protocol ("IP") addresses, navigation through the Application, the software used and the time spent, along with other similar information, will be stored. Providing personal information is your choice. When you undertake certain actions on our Application, such as creating menstrual cycle calendars, you knowingly and voluntarily provide us with personal information about you, such as your gender, birth date, health data and other information. While these data are not personally identifiable information, UNFPA treats them at personally identifiable information standards. Your location is temporarily collected to the servers for the emergency location sharing, when you willingly agree to share your location with your chosen emergency contacts. You also knowingly provide certain information about a third party (e.g. phone number of an emergency contact) with that party's knowledge and consent.
This information is collected only with your knowledge and permission and is kept in various UNFPA databases. Your information will not be retained for longer than necessary for purposes set out in this Notice. The emergency phone numbers and emergency SMS texts are kept in phones internal storage and are not sent to UNFPA servers. The SMSs are being sent by the phone's native interface.

We do not sell or share any personally identifiable information volunteered on the Application to any third party without prior consent. We do, however, share some user non-identifiable statistical information with our partners so that the whole UNFPA family can respond to your needs. Any information provided to UNFPA by users of the GBV Prevention Application is held with the utmost care and security, and will not be used in ways other than as set forth in this Privacy Notice, or in ways to which you have explicitly consented. UNFPA employs a range of techniques and security measures to protect the information maintained on our system from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
However, UNFPA assumes no responsibility for the security of information.
If UNFPA decides to change this Privacy Notice, UNFPA will notify you of those changes so that you are always aware of what information we collect and how we use it.
You expressly acknowledge and agree that use of the Application is at your sole risk. The Application and any services performed or provided by the Application are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, and UNFPA hereby disclaims all warranties and representations with respect to the Application and any services, either express, implied, or statutory, including, but not limited to, any implied warranties and/or conditions of merchantability, of satisfactory quality, of fitness for a particular purpose, of accuracy, of quiet enjoyment, and of non-infringement of third party rights.
In no event shall UNFPA be liable for personal injury or any incidental, special, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever, including, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, or any other commercial damages or losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Application, however caused, regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, or otherwise) and even if UNFPA has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
The Application may contain links, and may enable access to UNFPA's and/or third-party services and websites (collectively and individually, "External Services"). You agree to use the External Services at your sole risk. UNFPA is not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy of any third-party External Services, and shall not be liable for any such third-party External Services. Data displayed by this Application or External Service, including but not limited to financial, medical and location information, is for general informational purposes only and is not guaranteed by UNFPA or its agents. You will not use the External Services in any manner that is inconsistent with these Terms of Use or that infringes the intellectual property rights of UNFPA or any third party. You agree not to use the External Services to harass, abuse, stalk, threaten or defame any person or entity, and that UNFPA is not responsible for any such use. External Services may not be available in all languages or in your home country, and may not be appropriate or available for use in any particular location. To the extent you choose to use such External Services, you are solely responsible for compliance with any applicable laws. UNFPA reserves the right to change, suspend, remove, disable or impose access restrictions or limits on any External Services at any time without notice or liability to you. UNFPA assumes no responsibility for the privacy practices, terms of use or the content of External Services.
If you upload content from the Application and to any social network and then tag UNFPA, your submission will be subject to that website's terms of use and privacy policy. UNFPA assumes no responsibility for the terms of use, privacy practices or the content of such social networks and websites.
Nothing in this Privacy Notice or in these Terms of Use shall constitute or be considered to be a limitation upon or a waiver of the privileges and immunities of the United Nations, including its subsidiary organs, which are specifically reserved.

I understand my use of the Application is voluntary and I am free to cancel my use of the Application at any time. At the time of cancellation, I have the right to request UNFPA to destroy my personal data.
I agree that my personal data can be transferred to relevant service providers in the country and abroad, within the limits of determined purpose, by retaining them for the maximum period required, to better support me.
